Peter Keating - Author of Historical Fiction

#Author of #historicalfiction, still alive I hope or this is a terrible afterlife.
I have had a very varied career, from baker to almost candlestick maker. Dyslexia has proved a burden and a joy; my editor rolls around with laughter at my mistakes.
This of #M42 - some great clear nights here in #Suffolk

To me, the Amazon series #ThreePines was far better than the books. The books are good, but after reading the fourth, they became a little too formalistic for me. Hey, that's me, not easily pleased.

I think this is the best sci-fi novel on the subject of contact with an alien intelligence and man's reaction to it.

In the current period, this book is a sad reflection on continued Imperial dreams by #Russia and failures.

On searching for an image for this disturbing book from 1978 I found this and I'll leave it up to you what you think from 2025 viewpoint. The sad fact is that nothing has changed, just seeing the title.

Book XI
This one seems to have started a genre of its own... based on contacts he made during his time reporting in West Africa, it was then an airport flick book something to read while you waited etc... cheap easy read

When I read this, I was reminded of Dún Laoghaire and nearby Sandycove, with the James Joyce Tower and Museum. God knows what it's like now, as Dublin is a foreign city to me compared to when I was young.

This was one of Dad's books that I lifted from his bookcase. I liked the cover. It made me ask questions: such as why did the Western Roman Empire fall? Finally, I read Ancient & Medieval History at Royal Holloway, (Bedford New College) University of London.

Douglas Adams (HGTG)- I first heard the Radio show in 1978 and looked forward to the books only to be bitterly disappointed by the changes he brought in. Perhaps showing that the original is better than the spin-off?
