I'm not entertaining any pro capitalism arguments until capitalism can figure out how not to destroy all life on earth
It’s probably not a coincidence that the same companies who are responsible for the greenhouse gases causing climate change are also responsible for microplastic pollution, which is in our water cycle, our food, our bloodstreams, and slowly strangling every ecosystem on planet Earth.

I keep my head down and turn out good work and I just barely made rent this month, but a lady calls a kid the n-word at a playground and she raises a half-million dollars in a week. I don't get the world, and I don't like it. We are surrounded by rotten dogshit assholes and they're thriving.

It doesn’t have to be the end of humanity, but it does have to be an end to how humanity does things right now.

We can have it all if we’re brave enough.

A bit late to the party but a look at mass-vs-elite opinion and why that Dobbs Effect the Democrats were counting on (and benefitted from in 2022) didn't materialize in 2024.

From a journalist friend: Just spreading the word. The CDC is purging data, so people should archive their favorite CDC datasets today, namely ones around race/ethnic diversity, LGBTQ, and reproductive health. Also health data involving climate. The youth risk behavior survey has already gone down.

I keep seeing people say the media have learned nothing from Trump‘s first term, but that’s not correct. They learned that pandering to Trump and his insane policies can be very profitable for them.

One of the easiest, most visible ways to resist is to mask

Safeguarding your health is more important than ever. It’s easier to fight back when you’re not chronically ill

It shows you care about disabled & marginalized individuals

It tells government you won’t be complicit in the harm of others

Tomorrow will be a dark day for many.

For disabled, marginalized, LGBTQ+ folks & women. For anyone who still cares about others

The disability community saw this coming. It’s important we listen & understand that labelling people as expendable for 5 years leads nowhere good 🧵

You won't be any better at fighting what's coming if you burn yourself out and spend all your time feeling bleak and hopeless, and the people telling you that it's all despair now probably don't have anyone's best interest at heart.

I was raised in a multi-generational organizing family and I can say with firsthand knowledge that 20th century organizers read theory and they studied history and literature quite closely

The need to do that hasn’t changed

If studying history isn’t part of your organizing work, change that

“Centrism is defined in part by never being willing to take a stance that might be seen as opposing capitalism or ruling class interests. In fact, this cohort exists to protect those interests, so it must actively punch left and oppose systemic change, even if it means moving right in the process.”
The Democrats have done an incredibly terrible job.

They lost to Trump, they participated in a genocide for 15 months, and they did everything wrong when it came to TikTok.

Trump claims easy wins, the center folds to fascism, we have to save ourselves.

DuPont made $1.62 billion in profits this year, spent $1 billion on stock buybacks, paid its CEO $20 million & fined just $480,000 for the release of a chemical that causes leukemia.

It costs $508,250 to treat just 1 kid with leukemia in America. Jail them instead
