Trans issues and motorsport are similar in at least one way: passing makes you feel good.

A weird thing happened last night at a Pride party.

A woman started talking to me, and invited me to sit with her. We discussed where we work, and what we enjoy about Pride. When I asked to follow her Instagram, and she followed mine, there was a marked change in her tone, more guarded. 1/

Love this. Coming soon: The Bulwark Podcast explores how not being called "biological men" by Trump supporters is making trans women too confident.

Happy Trans Day of Visibility. While I don't like showing my face on social media, I've appreciated the support of everyone here, in helping me realise that the way I present to the world can match the way I feel about myself, without reproach or embarrassment.

Wear your fake fur with pride.

I've just written my newsletter post for tomorrow. It's about finding a Pride in a different country that fills you with a sense of joy and trans love.

Here's a photo of the place I went to - can you guess which city it is?

In terms of trans rights, the reading and listening I've been doing recently has made me more militant and less accommodating. I'm more likely to yell at someone than explain calmly something they could do their research on independently. Maybe these times call for a warrior not a doctor.

Thinking "that's America, it could never happen to us" is ignoring how many people feel liberated to say and do and treat people as awfully as they want everywhere because of these policies. I used to think the line of progress went up, but now I see that we have to fight for even basic rights.

I'm having fun with my new series of articles about transitioning with confidence. I hope you find this useful if you can relate!
