yeah, that's exactly it, the snobbery combined with the hypocrisy. it's not fun.

i mean, it's disappointing (i do this dance every night with my rarepairs), but it's the same as browsing the library for a bit to find what you want. time consuming, but just part of life not to have instant gratification, and not at all worth badgering authors.

their notebooks are beautiful, too! some are based on real antique book covers iirc

ultimately the only real inconvenience is that you have to browse the tag longer and sift through multiple stories to find what you want to read. which isn't really a big deal?

personally, i'm more peeved that the estate refuses to give anyone the rights to the book while they simultaneously refuse to pursue copyright or trademark infringement cases on the literal weapons companies that named themselves after things from the books.

that makes sense! i more mean, like, why does the greater fandom trend seem to care so much about character hair colors, then ignore canon!? 😂 i like the multitude of interpretations, too, but it's rare to find a fandom that doesn't just form a strong fanon idea.
