Minneapolis, nonsense, higher ed, tech, genealogy, and Minnesota in general. PhD in education. Have been called “secretly nice.” Saved a child care center, ran a tech conference. I make excellent pierogi and strudel.
“Controversial” is weak language.

It will kill children. We know this because it prevented deaths in children.

Do we need to see children dying before our own eyes to care? Or does it have to be our own babies? What on earth is wrong with this country.

The “features” Roblox adds by default once a child hits 13 is full of red flags. This is dangerous.

I want to highlight the section that is exactly why I think chiropractors operate with far too much certainty.

Pain clinics do not just hand out opioids. In fact, they do everything possible to work with people to find other solutions (sometimes to the patient’s detriment).

This paragraph is the best part of this story.

I should probably add this photo as internet payment, but have a feeling it will push more people into “best friend” territory.

I guess at least it’s not a raccoon.

The “dress up on airlines” comments are so ridiculous on their face, but they make me so mad because flying is just awful now compared to 30 years ago. I know because I’m old and flew 30 years ago. Everything is smaller now and it’s literally painful.

The bill text on that “denounce socialism vote” is just a must read.

www.congress.gov/bill/119th-c...

What absolute ahistorical slop nonsense this is.

(Only MN CD-4 and CD-5 voted no on this ridiculous thing. Craig and Morrison couldn’t even stomach just voting “present,” they voted yes.)

Now, the way they’re marketing their services (link in alt).

This is incredibly gross, many things are unquantifiable pseudoscience/correlation, and there’s a reason they’re featuring these traits and not actual diseases genetic counselors screen for with couples.

So, um, maybe the time to put some guardrails up on the fertility industry was quite a while ago.

First, this from a Jan 30 article (link in alt).

Straight overhead in south Minneapolis. Visible to naked eye. Incredible.

You can’t see it like this with your eyes in the city, but it’s like a subtle smudge. But when you just open the camera the aurora is very clear even in the city.

This is the most painful quote in the AP story. “Raising concern” about health care will definitely matter to the GOP.

My friend in NY texted me that the NYT is freaking out and sent this screenshot.

Hear me out—I think the NYT might have an agenda…

Inspired me to peek at some old articles. This is not an article, but is from a campaign ad in the 2 Nov 1918 Twin City Star. Quite interesting! (He lost this election. 1916 may have been a fluke as his opponent was sick and out of commission for the last month of the campaign.) Still interesting

This is the most extreme banner I've seen on a federal site, which is saying something as they've already blown way past violating the Hatch Act. www.ers.usda.gov

This is something to send to anyone on the fence or in any way part of the “he isn’t that bad” camp. Fernando has clearly *had it*.

Posting this with alt text because there’s so much going on in this photo and it is such a real snapshot of the era. Look closely at the children—leg braces and wheeled out.

I love to see this—all across MN for the no kings protests. With you in spirit, however in body I’m with my nebulizer and tissues.

As someone with autocorrect problems already, was it smart to put a second keyboard on my phone that I accidentally switch to all the time?

Da? Ne?

Spot the actual keyboard difference…
