I got a little worried yesterday about the money I’ve spent this year on sourdough supplies and my new greenhouse and its enhancements. There’s a fine line between healthy and unhealthy coping. But if it’s keeping me going, and safer than other things…

Always desired. My seedlings are keeping me going.

Why, yes. I do think I’m hilarious.

I realized today that I’m not chasing joy so much as chasing normal. My garden brings me joy, of course. But it’s the normal I really need. Just something that’s the same within all the chaos.

Seeking joy every day to maintain my mental health. Today’s joy: First time making sourdough was an amazing success.

Also, fuck Trump. Fuck Musk. Fuck DOGE.

I remember when I watched this show for the first time, and the nazi salutes were about history and weren’t a matter of current events in the US.

I haven’t posted on any meta apps since I deleted them from my phone two weeks ago. So you all get this pic. This is how I sleep now, eye goop and everything. And it’s glorious.

This kid and I started singing in our Unitarian Universalist choir in 2017 for self care and community. COVID decimated the choir, and it’s never been the same. Acceptance said I had to quit or find a new reason for going. This kid is my reason. Time together. Singing together, even when it’s hard.

My clients love slime, and it’s great for sensory coping, so I’m happy to help them make it.

But it’s so, so gross. I don’t know why they like to touch it. *shudders*

Since we didn’t bring the kids to the Germanfest, I brought the Germanfest to the kids for Sunday dinner. I made Oktoberfest Beer Cheese Soup and we had the hearty German bread we bought at the event. The apron was just a bonus, lol.

Mulled apple cider with bourbon and a bunch of singles for burlesque! Date nights as an ex-Mormon are so much spicier. 😁#datenight

Cheesecake, traditional pumpkin pie, triple layer pumpkin pie, pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, and 2 chocolate cream pies. For 9 people. 🤪

This kid is sore and bruised but no permanent physical damage. Today, we’re singing at church in our Unitarian Universalist choir and making as many hit by a truck jokes as we can think of.

When you’re a Gen X therapist playing Emotions Jenga with a kid and you pull this tile, there is no avoiding it. Sally Field will march right into your brain to dismissively remark, “Her colors and pink and pink.”
