This is the reason why I always advocate for auth/security stuff to be EASY to implement.
Most people ARE NOT security experts.
Most people DO NOT want to be security experts.
Most people SHOULD NOT be security experts.
Make your SDKs easy to use because auth is rarely the staple of a product.

The fact that I can ignore all the identity/auth/user stuff for #atproto apps is such a superpower. That always stops me on personal projects. I don't want to have to care about those things. I just want to make stuff.
