I was raised in the Southern Baptist church in Georgia in the 70s and 80s. My end came when the church doubled-down on the whole “wives should submit to their husbands” doctrine in the late 90s. I was newly married and I just could not imagine raising my future children like that.

Never thought about that! It makes so much sense! I always chalked it up to being an introvert out in public for longer than usual.
