Thinking so much about everyone in Southern California. We were just out there seeing friends and family and now some have lost their homes and all are suffering amidst this unfathomable trauma and loss. Hoping for some lucky breaks for the brave men and women fighting these fires.

Happy New Year from the California coast! I was grateful for friends, family, readers, health, animals, flowers, stories, community, and creative work I love this past year. A lot is uncertain about the months ahead, but I’m hoping to hang on to a spirit of kindness, purpose, and discovery!

I visited the passage tomb at Newgrange in February, 2021, so not the winter solstice, but thrilling nonetheless! Happy Solstice, everyone. May you find light in the darkness!
