I saw this, thought of all the writers I know and simultaneously chuckled and winced (a ‘chunced’? a ‘winckled’? Am proving why I write like a salamander on acid I fear). Sending love and plasters to all the writers out there!

I just verified that I’m not a child with Bluesky. A website estimated my age. BUT DIDN’T TELL ME HOW OLD IT THOUGHT I WAS. Instead, it said it was deleting the image of my face (rude I think).

I’m not going to lie, I’m upset I passed the age test and wondering which of these wrinkles let me down…

Well this is pretty brilliant isn’t it?!

Powerful words from Harold Koh, alumnus and Honorary Fellow of Magdalen College.
Harold Koh: “What I’ve learned from my dad, from my wife, from my family is that courage is contagious. So is cowardice. What you decide is a choice. And when your moment come—and believe me, it will—please make sure that the decision you make is one you can live with."

Today I tried looking for a picture, (jpeg, gif, jif, I’d have taken some Cif - anyway, you get the idea)of Desperate Dan on my iPhone. He was nowhere to be seen. There was one solitary picture of an artsy Dennis the Menace.

I think I got old.

I thought he’d only just been elected to the Vatican….

(Really do need to look at the pictures and not just read the words)

As a big fan of tea I thought this was an interesting post!
Churchill went to great lengths to ensure adequate supplies of tea in Britain in the Second World War, fearing the impact on morale if it disappeared.

The contrast with tariffs remaining on coffee in the US is striking.
How Britain Bought All The Tea In The World During WW2
Was tea Britain's secret weapon in World War 2? Why did they buy all the tea in the world in 1942? A fascinating story of tea and war.

Is there anything sadder than this sight?? Farewell my dear tea bag. I mourn the promise of joy you would’ve brought me and will remember you as I boil the living daylights out of one of your brothers and sisters. I will also curse the fact you’re all over the bloody floor and on my naked feet 😳

I love Fortnum and Mason, especially at Christmas. Their festive windows made me smile - unlike the chap I overheard asking where he could find pickled sprouts. Also, why would anyone pickle a clementine? It’s fruit abuse.

@adamcsharp.bsky.social this time of year makes me think of my favourite Finnish word that I think you’ll appreciate… “kalsarikännit”. It’s a lovely word that means ‘to get drunk at home in your underwear, with no intention of doing anything else.’

I woke up this morning to my son singing ‘Away in a manger’ in my ear, waving a glow in the dark ball in my face. Cute eh? Save that by ‘this morning’ I actually mean 3am, and as I’m VERY shortsighted and it was pitch black, the tiny light and eerie child singing felt like the start of horror film.

Reader. I baked the s*** out of my day and am proud to present this years artisanal dog biscuit offerings for the school fayre. They were made using an old family recipe of rice crispies and chocolate and chocolate cake with a chocolate topping. Additional chocolate available.

Attempting to create a Naughty/Nice List for the school fayre where I’m an elf (don’t ask). Took a lot of brain cells to think of villains in children’s literature! 6yr old son took one look and said my handwriting was ‘a bit messy’ and I’d used the wrong colours. #2025boardingschoolconvert

I have been without electricity or gas for an hour and therefore I have been without tea. I might die soon. Tell my mother I loved her and my sisters that none of my shoes will fit them so they can sod off.

Help! I need recommendations for books for a 13yr old girl who loves chick lit but needs to broaden her reading horizons. She’s been made to read Animal Farm and Noughts and Crosses at school but disliked both. So, any ideas on suitable happily ever after type stories please? PURRLEEAASE!
