Note that Bannon and Musk represent opposite sides of the US far right (Traditionalist populism vs technocracy). The fascist salutes aren't coming one faction of the "Conservative" movement, this is now a powerful cross section of its leadership.
Steve Bannon, after calling for Trump to be President for life, did a Nazi salute on stage at CPAC.

Nazism has officially taken over the GOP.

The few remaining conservatives have a choice: either leave the party and obstruct it—or choose to be complicit.

I Watched the Democratic Collapse in Florida. I Fear It’s Happening Nationally.
It’s time for real structural changes in the party, not quick fixes. Here are a few.

The Dream of the Raised Arm | Zadie Smith
It’s no wonder those who lived under the Third Reich suffered ceaseless nightmares. What of our dreams today, under the totalitarianism of the online algorithm?

NYC is on fire because Eric Adams took a hatchet to the Parks Department budget, firing 51 forestry specialists who remove the dead trees and invasive species most likely to ignite during dry periods.
Eric Adams's Budget Cuts Have Set Up New York City's Parks to Burn
By cutting the exact people meant to keep the city's parks free from fallen, dead trees and keep the forests healthy, the mayor has set up a tinderbox that's already igniting.

I don't have anything particularly genius to say to start this off (plus, I fractured my hand last week and can barely type), so in the meantime, here's Maya:
