You know this fancy car outside St Pancras hotel that all the kiddies get their photo taken with? When you get up close, you can see it's sufficiently neglected for someone to have written TAX THE RICH on the grimy windscreen. If you put this in a novel your editor would tell you off.

I remember once Jimmy standing on Oxford Street attempting to hail a black cab. It stopped, but as Jimmy got in the door on the other side opened and a businessman in a suit got in, mistakenly thinking the cab had stopped for him, I assumed. But, no, he was actually a conquest, whom Jimmy had managed to seduce from the other side of the road, wordlessly, in the time it took for the cab to stop.
