The legend of the Wookey Witch took a sinister turn in 1912. Herbert Balch, local archaeologist, excavated ancient remains from a shallow grave, along with the remains of 2 goats, a bowl, a dagger, a latch lifter & an alabaster ball, now in Wells Museum, #Somerset
