This means that USAID will have just 12 people to assist as more than 25 million people starve in Sudan.

21 to assist as 2 million people try to return to their destroyed homes in Gaza.
NEWS: USAID is shrinking its essential worldwide staff to 294 — a massive decrease from 14000.

An internal breakdown shows the agency being left with just 12 people assigned to Africa, 21 to the entire Middle East, and 8 to Asia.

I am often accused of being too emotional when reporting on politics - but I would rather have a human emotional response than pretend this is just 'reshaping US policy in the Middle East'. It's ethnic cleansing and the end of the rule of law. And the Australian government has said nothing
If the Aust Govt does not denounce this immediately, we are complicit in approving ethnic cleansing of a historic level
Trump: The US will take over the Gaza Strip… we’ll own it

“But her emails!”
Arguably the biggest national security breach in U.S. history. Private employees downloading personnel data on every federal employee and tax and social security data on every American onto private unsecured servers. Needless to say, completely illegal and subject to major prison sentences.
3/ different pieces fit together. There also seems to be a significant amount of downloading government data onto private servers, etc, totally outside any cybersecurity regime. Additionally it’s unclear to the people inside whether the people doing these things actually work for the US govt…

As Jesus famously said, Love thy neighbor a bit less than thyself
I mean yes, there is such a concept in Christianity. It appears quite notably in the letters of Paul, for instance, where it’s a concept he *relentlessly* argues against, and in the Gospel where it’s a concept Jesus very much repeatedly scorns. So it is technically in there!

I am a climate scientist and this is correct ⬇️
Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.
