Trans allies, lift up trans voices and speak out. There is no LGBTQ without the T.

Our collective equality is connected to the safety and freedom of transgender people.

Forty years ago, GLAAD's founders came together to tell the truth about who LGBTQ people really are to counteract the media spreading fear and disinformation about LGBTQ people and the AIDS crisis. They knew that if they could do this at scale— if they could shift the story— the world would change.

Forty years ago, in 1985, seven hundred people packed a church in the Village in New York City for @glaad.bsky.social’s first meeting. They were artists, journalists, and activists who saw the media spreading fear and disinformation about their lives and about the AIDS crisis. (1/3)

Happy #SpiritDay! Go purple to support LGBTQ youth. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

A message to the LGBTQ youth out there: 💜 You’re never alone. If you ever feel alone or isolated, know that you have a beautiful community waiting for you and fighting for you to have the rights and protections you deserve. 💜

From the court to orange carpets, these players & this organization are reminding the world that LGBTQ people belong in sports. To quote soccer legend Megan Rapinoe, ‘you can’t win a championship without gays on your team.’ Congratulations, and here’s cheering for another championship season. (2/2)

As a life-long New York Liberty fan, I was thrilled to present this historic team with a Special Recognition @glaad.bsky.social Media Award for their continued work - on and off the court - to make women’s basketball a place where LGBTQ fans and our families are seen and supported. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️(1/2)

It was great going live with V on their @underthedesknews.bsky.social substack to talk all things LGBTQ. From what it was like coming out in the 90s/00s to our love of Stewie to 40 years of @glaad.bsky.social. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Congratulations V on being named one of TIME 100 Most Influential Creators!

This Supreme Court and administration believe that nothing is settled and everything is up for grabs. They are rewriting what America is supposed to be about and how progress in this country moves forward.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate Pride with us. It was so good to be with our community and allies.

Let’s continue to create a future where we all have the freedom and equality that we all deserve. (2/2)

As we close out Pride Month, it’s important that we carry the power of community coming together forward and continue to show up loudly, visibly and without apology for the LGBTQ community. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ (1/2)

The Supreme Court decided a long time ago that separate is not equal in the classroom, and now is prioritizing the rights of a small group to segregate LGBTQ families. (1/3)

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Pride is about resistance and joy. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

We must resist all of the attacks against our community, raise trans voices and ensure that our stories are being told. Our stories change hearts and minds while moving culture forward.

Gather with community, laugh, sign, dance and celebrate with joy.

Pope Francis was a transformational leader who included LGBTQ people in historic ways. Having had the honor of meeting with Pope Francis twice, I witnessed first-hand his dedication to make a Church for all, not just some. (1/3)

@glaad.bsky.social was founded 40 years ago during the AIDS crisis, because our community knew no one was coming to save us. We had to save ourselves. We used the powerful tool of media along with our allies to create a better and more equal world. (1/4)

Every story you tell chips away at the walls of ignorance. Every film, every post, every song, every share, every article becomes a spark in the darkness, lighting the way forward.

LGBTQ stories have been a revolution and they will outlive every attempt to silence us. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

As we close out Women's History Month, it's important that we all come together united. Women have always been on the forefront in the fight for equality and justice. If one of us is being attacked, we're all being attacked.

Let’s remind America what we stand for: facts, family, fairness, and most of all freedom. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Tell our stories. Make them undeniable. Use your voice and use your all of your platforms. Because history is written by those who refuse to be silent. #GLAADawards

As we get ready for the 36th annual #GLAADAwards tonight, I wanted to send a quick message of love and joy out to the LGBTQ community. Even if you can’t be with us in the room, you will be with us in spirit.

Let’s celebrate our stories and our joy as we continue the fight for equality. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
