I have never felt so terrified of the world as it currently stands. Autism myths from a world leader, war in so many countries, the weight of the next 4 years waiting to see if our family will get ripped apart by IRL reforms. There is so much fear, how are we supposed to keep going?

We want children to love being outdoors, we need to make the space appealing to them. Getting this right at school takes away the play inequalities children face outside of school #playistheway

Being playful is an integral part of being a #PlayTherapist. This connection with their inner child enables therapists to empathise and connect with the children they work with in a childlike way.
The non-judgmental connection enables children to feel accepted and permitted to be their true selves.

Starting to plan for #Playday2025 in our local village. I am hoping not only to have a wonderful morning of #play but also to highlight the issue with traffic around our village school and church #spacesforplay #PlayistheWay #PlayScotland #PlayDay www.playscotland.org/playday-2025...

This has hit a nerve when I shared it elsewhere. This is not a blame game, but without looking back we cannot move forward. What changed with the messages of children's freedom and why? Let's be curious not defensive.

Is the current generation of parents really to blame for the downfall in society?
Based on social media posts, it would seem many people think so

I cannot comment on the Adolescence part as I have not yet watched it, however these are really sad facts 😔
Sad graphs on the squeezing of outdoor play and school playtimes in England. Maybe rather than showing Adolescence in schools we could improve play facilities for young people?

Listened to this @playscotland.bsky.social podcast last night. I loved Dr Robert Grant's thoughts on autistic children not playing wrong, just not the way adult's think play should look like and "don't think about what's different, value the difference". youtu.be/TbR1MGIvFFQ?...

Taking away playtime, when play and movement is what is required most for these children, always baffles me and I hate working in schools where this approach is taken. Pleased to see the play report is highlighting this.

I am seeing the benefit of playing out for children after moving from a city suburb to rural Scotland. My children now go knock for their friends, go to the park and have rich, full, child-led social lives. Whilst this is not possible everywhere, initiative like play streets can help bridge the gap
Catherine in Leeds - an amazing advocate and activist - did a great job explaining the value of play streets, and encouraging residents across the UK to get involved.
