As Trump and the GOP move to take health care away from 11.5 million of us today, I’ll be thinking about the elderly people we serve and wondering where they will go when their Medicaid is cut and their hospitals and nursing facilities close. Front lawn of the White House?

They are afraid of the grandmothers who ask simple questions about Medicaid, Social Security, and the future safety of their grandchildren. Too bad for them- grandmas know how to internet too and they got time.
Republicans are moving their town hall events online, where they can pre-select questions — and many are backing away from these events altogether.

An elderly veteran in our clinic did everything right: she planned, she saved. But she spent all her savings on her care and now relies on Medicaid to live in her home. This week the Republicans voted to cut Medicaid, her lifeline and that of 13 million older adults in our families and communities.
