I feel like breaking out pneumonia as something separate from covid may be misleading, I have a friend who had their mom die of pneumonia caused by covid. How are these covid pneumonia deaths counted?

I think it is likely that your children will come to accept you as adults once they have more perspective about the situation, and once your children are adults your wife and your parents may well be much less a part of your life. I would encourage you to focus on this possible future. Hugs!
