Experienced (band 6), vital, life-saving, incredible, NHS midwives start on £35,392.

Long term failure to invest in staff means there's a shortage of 2,500 midwives in England alone. Some hospitals have one in five required positions vacant.

So excuse my language, but: what in the actual fuck?😆
Draft Tory legislation on removing indefinite leave to remain is insane.

Would chuck out those not earning over £38K - including many pensioners!

+ social protections seems to include child benefit, so load of people with (British!) kids!

They'd remove my sis & mum who've been here 50 years.

Porch angel guardians for #woodensday at St Vincent's, Newnham, Herts. The slightly less-than-enthusiastic 1908 entry in @vchlondon.bsky.social doesn't mention them, so maybe later removals 🤷‍♀️ @sarahangelroofs.bsky.social additional 📷 👇 #medieval #churchcrawling

I prosecute and defend the most serious sexual offences in our courts.

The overwhelming majority of offenders are British-born. Overwhelmingly the victim is someone known to them, either a partner or relative.

Anybody purporting to care about protecting women might start there.

A gobsmacking story. Water companies let toxic waste disposers, for cash, dump their loads into sewage farms. The sewage sludge is then spread, untested, on farmland, potentially poisoning vast areas, entire ecosystems and the people (you and me) eating the food.

For all those struggling to cope with the state of the world, here is Loki, recovered from lurgy last week thanks to extremely expensive cat food and lots of cuddles.
