Clyde Higgs tells @nytimes.com that light rail isn’t likely to run the entire length of the Beltline:
Clyde Higgs, the president and chief executive of Atlanta Beltline Inc., pushed back on the criticism during an interview. He reaffirmed his support for light rail on the Beltline, but he also said that ultimately, a rail line wasn’t likely to traverse the entire 22-mile circuit. Instead, he said, there might be rail on portions of the trail — for example, on the South Side, as the mayor proposes, where the path is still being developed — and “another solution” for the East Side that could involve self-driving vehicles.

Great story by one of @ajc.com’s interns, Safa Wahidi: Many of the defibrillators at MARTA stations have been removed from public access, with instructions to call MARTA police instead. This could delay care in cardiac emergencies where survival rates drop every minute: www.ajc.com/news/2025/06...

Stumbled upon a training for MARTA ambassadors at Lindbergh Center station just now. CFO Kevin Hurley is in the crowd and told me the training is in preparation for Club World Cup games that start here Monday.
