Right. Like there are useful things these tools can help with. Scouring the internet for particular information. Cataloging examples of something.

But producing a reasoned argument? Offering a novel thought? I haven’t seen any that can do that.

I don’t understand how that is meant to be a sign of truth when it just means those LLMs are being trained on/getting info from the same datasets so they produce similar results. But who is judging whether the results are truth?

In age of rampant mis/disinfo, media bubbles, and deepfakes, it’s more important than ever that we teach & practice critical thinking.

My fear is AI tools are being increasingly used as a substitute for critical thinking; society is suffering as a result.

To think is human-let’s not lose that.

It doesn’t help that ppl’s attention spans are being shattered by bite-sized messages and 15 sec videos. So if you can’t/don’t want to take the time to learn, practice, and hone these skills, just adopt the “skills” AI has as your own.
