Interestingly enough, McCurtain County, Oklahoma does host one of northernmost populations of Sabal minor, widely recognized as the second most cold tolerant palm species on Earth. 🌱

I love spotting out of place flora in TV/movies, in season 2 of Invasion (Apple TV+) the trunk and skirt of a very mature Mexican Fan Palm (W. robusta) are visible in what’s supposed to be McCurtain County, Oklahoma, winters there feature temp extremes that are too cold for this species. 🌱
