How long does it take for your pieces to dry?

Try to use as little as possible. I put it on the rim so it coats the piece. Always soak up the water at the bottom of the piece. If you don't you will get an S crack at the bottom. Which reminds me, always press the bottom to prevent any cracks.

Put your elbow next to your leg to center. This places your arm firmly. Centering is the most important thing you do.
Put water around the sides of the piece when pulling up so it's slicker.
Don't rush it.

The dark clay is really messy and a lot to clean up. However, it's a beautiful clay with really nice glaze results.
