I usually speed when I’m driving but that’s because all the speed limit signs around here are just normal-sized signs and I don’t think they’re serious signs but once Doug Ford spends millions putting up bigger speed limit signs I will definitely not be speeding anymore because then it’s serious.

Patient came in with sore throat. While waiting for rapid Strep test result we glanced back at the Covid-19 RAT result: positive. Reminder that masking in health care makes sense, if you don’t want everyone in your waiting room to go home sick, your staff to get sick, and physicians to get sick.

During the height of the pandemic, Tyson used Palantir to predict Covid-19 infections among meatpacking workers down to a nearly exactly figure. But rather than using this data to increase worker protections, Tyson used it plan for labor shortages + plant closures

Please wear an N95 or better that seals well on your face to help prevent COVID infection. Air must pass through the filter media to be filtered, not leak through gaps at the side (as in a surgical mask).

Considering the vast amount of evidence that Covid can cause serious long-term health problems, mitigating risk of infection is absolutely logical. This should be utterly uncontroversial. But alas, politics, tribalism, and a desire to conform trump logic for most people. Not me.

Canada is leading in safety with the new draft of the CSA standard on respirators.

@dickzoutman.bsky.social, @juliamwright.bsky.social, @mark-ungrin.bsky.social, and I explain key updates that bring protections up to date with the evidence on respirator use against airborne disease transmission.
The CSA’s revised standard on respirators should help us all breathe easier
New draft standards for respirator use recognize the importance of protecting workers and patients in health-care settings, where there is a higher risk of pathogen exposure

and that’s how the CBC has not only failed me and the rest of its employees, it has also failed you and the rest of canadians.

it has failed to protect us and our families from the real harms of COVID. and it has failed to adequately inform you and all canadians of the risks of this disease.

Vaccination is ONE way to help protect your cardiovascular health, but it is not enough.
You must also actively PREVENT COVID infection by wearing a well-fitted respirator, using HEPA/CRbox filters & opening windows/doors.
