Physicist, software developer, keen on photos of gorgeous landscapes, space and nature. 🏠 Oxford. 🌹 Leftie. He/him. Here for pretty pictures and a political conversation hopefully more civilised than Musk's Twitter.
Good old Argos. I had the thought only this morning, went to a Sainsburys, here now.

What would I do without them? Melt, probably. 😃

Fairford to Letchlade was absolutely gorgeous today.

Strongly recommended for a hike, if you're that way inclined.

It isn't a lie. Here's John Swinney attacking the EU deal as "surrender". Precisely the same sort of language as is used by Reform and the Tories. (While Scottish Salmon approves of the deal.)

Zero surprise to see Reform and the Tories being bastards, but I thought the SNP were better than this.

It's striking to see it like this.
Practically all of British business agrees Labour's deal improving our economic links with the EU is good for us.

The Tory, Reform and SNP politicians who are shouting and calling it betrayal are cynical opportunists trying to make hay. They don't care about us.

A lot of older people say this: "ah, young people are so entitled. We had it just as hard." But here's the reality:

House prices are HUGELY more expensive compared to people's salaries than they were in the past.

We DO bloody hard work. Then landlords take most of it. That's how it works, sadly.

Photo I took - Folgarida, the Dolomites, Italy
I doubt I can do justice to how stunningly beautiful the landscape was, but here's a try.

It's good to have it in a study, but uh, ummm, for all of us...

Very happy with this Sacher torte I made last night.

I love our office habit of people bringing in desserts for each other. Excellent excuse to bake goodies I probably shouldn't love so much but do love anyway.

Let's remember this whenever people try to tell you "they're all the same".
Other big things:
- Legalised onshore wind
- Re-funded UNRWA
- Changed planning framework to build more homes that people desperately need.

Positano, Amalfi Coast, Italy, seen from a boat at sea.
That view!
Photo taken during ASES3, "Demographics of Exoplanetary Systems". I have to give credit: what an incredible choice of place.

Hello BlueSky! I've just joined here. I'm hoping it'll be nicer and less toxic than the other place. Starting as I mean to go on – here's Hampstead Heath being gorgeous.
