Still very early but I promised I would share progression on the 31st

It is a turn-based RPG / Horror-Inspired game

You wake up in a world turned B&W and turned into a literal "Game"

With your new plushie companion, you must now discover and survive this new world

Okay, starting to get my desire to create art back again, helps that I found something to give me inspiration, and it's a new art pen of all things

But I think the results are going to turn out nice. Now I can get back to making assets for my Game! Perhaps by month's end I'll have an alpha to show

Well... I think the core of my turn-based RPG system is done!

Sure, all the menus and health bars are place holders and attacks don't have animations, but those are way easier to add and fix than the whole system itself

I think this is almost ready for release!!

Making cleaned up progress so far, next time gotta re-add the skill system, which hopefully will be easier than re-adding the turn based systems today, they fought me for hours lol

Game Dev Weekend update: Was hoping to get more done but it ended up being a surprisingly busy weekend

But I'm currently working to clean up my code and not make it a giant messy pile. This is what I've got for placeholders and its already looking 20 times better than it was before!

Added display messages to make things more clear for players/viewers, since before they were all in Print statements to the console

Pretty decent update for this week! Battle system now has a Skill System, including multi-attack and healing, logic for the Players fainting, and navigating menus with the buttons

Still ToDo: Player reviving, low-health logic, a TP system, and Victory/Game Over Screen #GodotEngine #GameDev

7/21 Game Dev Progress:

-All actors now successfully cycle through every character's turn.
-Enemies will perform attacks on a randomly chosen Player and then end their turn.
-Added randomized positions for each battle

Slowly but surely making progress!!

Game Dev Sat- Sunday 7/20:

Was at a party yesterday but worked on game dev stuff this week. Had a real burst of inspiration today and got several mechanics acceptable enough for me to move on to the next stages!

Hopefully next week I'll have a rudimentary turn-based battle system going

Game Dev Saturday Update: 7/5

Trying to break down game mechanics one at a time for my big project, so I was testing out a Godot Plugin called Dialogue Manager

It works ok, but from what I'm reading it might be better to go with Dialogic for the game I have in mind so that's my next test
