Truly, Democrats have to insist that all flavors of anti-immigrant policy—including opposing birthright citizenship—are GOP policy. There can be zero "well the country is moving in this direction…" bullshit. The *country* isn't anti-immigrant. Democrats have to stop talking like Republicans.

still poleaxed by the idea that you could oppose birthright citizenship and still think of yourself as a liberal in any sense of the term.

I worked for Frank Gehry. Because of him, I went to The Simpsons Halloween party, had a key to the Disney Concert Hall, met amazing artists. Frank was wonderful to me. When I left his office, he said you'll do big things, just try to stay out of politics. Sorry, Frank. Your memory is a blessing ❤️

If only we had a word for this!
Fox & Friends and Pam Bondi are now sensationalizing specific instances of Somalis being charged with crimes in Minnesota to demonize the whole population

Every morning I take the dogs for a walk in the woods. There's a certain fallen tree trunk we always cross and it's become a measure of how Silas is doing with his arthritis and general mobility. Some days he misjudges it and lands on his butt. Some days he's unstoppable!

The chipping away at petty things all for his ego I fucking hate it.
"The Donald Trump administration has changed which holidays qualify for free entrance to national parks, removing two holidays celebrating Black people and adding the president’s birthday."
National parks change prioritizes Trump birthday over days honoring Black people
Free entrance days at national parks no longer include MLK Day and Juneteenth.

I am happy to also die on this hill.
It’s probably just me, but I’m kind of over calling Patrick Stewart “Sir Patrick” and Ian McKellen “Sir Ian” and all the Sirs. (And God knows Jonathan Ive can fuck off.) It feels out of step with the world I want to see. I can admire someone without propping up royalism.

Both offering maga nuts permission to target people and covering his own ass, pathetic.
Kash Patel: "Those that want to hasten and put targets on people so they can have clickbait -- that's their right to do so, but that is not the mission of this FBI. That's now how we operate."

Speaking of learning the wrong lessons from TN-7…

I know it's too easy to grow numb to the constant flood of bigotry that comes out of his mouth but it does seem morally important you don't allow yourself or anyone else to become desensitized to this vile racism as a normal part of our politics
Trump on Somalis: "We're gonna go the wrong way if we keep taking in garbage into our country. Ilhan Omar is garbage. She's garbage. Her friends are garbage."

How can anyone accept a president who talks to them like this?
Trump claims he's slashing drugs prices by "200 percent, 300 percent, 400 percent, 500 percent, 600 percent, 700 percent, 800 percent. Nobody has ever heard of it before."

For my part, I would say that questioning the framing of some Times stories—for example, the highlighting of Trump’s putative emotions or the foregrounding of what he says (even when, as is often the case, what he says is false)—is not an indication that I want my “views validated.”

At certain points, right-wing media crosses a line from being a morally vacuous rage-baiting business model into actual human amoral sociopathy. This is one of those points.
Megyn Kelly on alleged war crimes: "I really do kind of not only wanna see them killed in the water, whether they're on the boat or in the water, but I'd really like to see them suffer. I would like Trump and Hegseth to make it last a long time so they lose a limb and bleed out."

Among other idiocies, this headline assumes MAGA to be the baseline normal of political movements FOR FUCKS SAKE.
No value, no villain, no vision. Sounds like the tagline for the earnings call of a collapsing appliance retailer

Why do we have a morning dedicated to political propaganda? Sunday talk shows should just go away. They don't serve the public interest in the least and at this point are an abuse of our attention.

Very well put.
“Every media era gets the fabulists it deserves. If Stephen Glass Jayson Blair & the other late 20th century fakers were looking for the prestige & power that came with journalism in that moment then this generation’s internet scammers are scavenging in the wreckage of a degraded media environment.”
