The Govt's rationing speclialist (aka MSD) is overheating trying to constrain benefit spending, but the number of people on a working-age benefit continues to sail way above forecasts. We are watching a permanently scarring event here. Grim.

Something I didn't pick up earlier is that du Plessis Allan is VERY careful to use the words "alleged" in the body of the text, which is directly in contradiction of her headline which says the woman "wasn't innocent".

I wonder if this is libel and an attempt to influence an active case.
It's okay, Heather isn't just mad about a woman emailing a man's wife (??), no, what really riles her up is judges taking into account childhood trauma when sentencing (???).

And look at that list of offenders and think of the punishments meted out. The masturbating cco director has his name suppressed and got a non-custodial sentence. The judge seemed to be more sorry for him than the victim.

National doesn't care about rangatahi getting suitable, long-lasting jobs - or even getting into education and training.

They only care about jobseeker numbers going down.

And when that's the goal, nothing is more effective than inflicting austerity to our most marginalised communities.

It is worth noting that this is a pattern amongst the likes of media, who inevitably paint a woman who has laid harassment, assault, rape, etc allegations against men as somehow less than pure & innocent, thus casting aspersions on her validity, with whatever denials that this is what they're doing.
