the Centre for Computing History, Cambridge looks in detail at Sound on the SAM, with an audio CD exploring everything.

My SAA1099P Soundchip Interface, for RC2014 and compatible hardware, brings the SAM's soundchip to other Z80 based platforms. Will be fun to see what people can do with it!

Sound has always been a fun part of the SAM Coupe, my first hardware release was a multichannel digital soundcard in 1995 for it - the Quazar Surround soundcard - I still make a variant of it to this day! Issue 11 of SAM Revival magazine (which I revamped last year for the 'Synthesized' show at...

Interesting to hear! I started with the SAM Coupe in 1993 and have now been developing for the computer for 32 years! (Everything I do -> www.samcoupe.com)

While MGT did go bust after 7 months of the SAM's launch it still continued for many more years under other companies, up to the start of 1999.

Tonight’s homework: get my head around how to use the envelope controllers (i.e. understand how that steam train sound is made!)

(4/5) With the theme of this years Festival being #Gaming it would have been great to be there to talk about all my #GameDev on the SAM Coupe computer.

If you're curious to read about the SAM Coupe, perhaps try an issue of 'SAM Revival' magazine...

I do have SC_Assembler and Lerm Assembler kicking about somewhere - both of which I've never used, plus Kobrahsoft's "effort" (ZX Emulator on disk + Speccy Assembler on cassette... which I bought once then returned under their 30 day money back guarantee, but got another copy in a huge second...

But the other games were dreadful: Futureball was completely unplayable - I never got past the first challenge, controls were awful. Mind Games 1 is BASIC slop unbelievably charged at full price.

At this point in time the SAM Coupe had been out a year and deserved far better.
