Well said!

Exactly! Even the ones that are “good but could be better” “okay” or even just “good” are stepping stones! Everything is progress. Everything is a step in the learning curve. We never stop learning or improving as writers because we’re always writing 😊

Don’t feel discouraged by having a learning book. And don’t even feel discouraged if your books get better over time. They’re SUPPOSED to. Even the best selling authors of the world got better as they went. Learn, grow, and never stop writing 😊

4. An unnamed story that drew inspiration from the 9 worthies. Reincarnations of the 9 worthies with the ability to access their past selves wisdom to fight an evil across time. Thing Live A Live meets Avatar the Last Airbender.

3. I may still come back to this but an unnamed Alternate History series about a group of rebels trying to start turn the Cold War into World War 3 between the victorious Nazis and the Soviet Union. It started as a steampunk story lol.

2. A trilogy called Hunter X. It was about an emotionally constipated merc and his friends who ride into town and end up helping a local group of freedom fighters fight the evil corporation whose polluting the world. I grew up and realized this is just FF7 meets FF8.

baby at the time though. It’s not bad. But I’ve gotten better.

Here’s some of my own WIPs and available works that taught me to add to the trend:

1. So much fanfiction. I’m not even going to go list or name them all cuz some of them are still available online. Fanfiction was my first sandbox.

Same! I’ll definitely pick up a copy and give your book a read once it’s out.

You perfectly described exactly what I was going for lol.

Thats probably why the concept is vibing with me lol. I’m excited to see it come out! 😊

Also some commentary of human nature and how we tend to focus on fighting each other rather than the problems that really matter. Sorry for so many messages lol. Word limits are my bane.

And the second is a new series, based in a fantasy setting inspired by a combination of Edo and Heian Japan, that focuses on concepts of war, and how 400 years of war affects each successive generation, whether peace is still possible in a world built on war. Also revenge, guilt, duty, filial piety.

One is the third book in my current series, Chronicles of Enayra. Think Eragon but with some more of the political intrigue and moral quandaries of Game of Thrones? Also themes of fate vs. choice, where is the moral line in the sand for a hero, etc.

Thank you! And I’m sorry for your loss as well. Whether loss is new or distant, doesn’t always make it any easier. We all feel loss differently 😊 but congrats on your (almost) finished book! Looks very interesting and I’d be excited to buy a copy and read it!
