On this date in 1964, Tony Conigliaro , from Revere Mass in his 1st at bat at Fenway hit his 1st MLB HR, he was 19 yrs old. In 1965 he hit 32 HR’s, at the age of 20, he was the youngest AL player to lead the league. He hit his 100th HR in 1967, becoming the youngest AL player to reach that milestone

From 1997-2003 Pedro Martinez had a record of 118-36 and a 2.20 ERA. He led the league in ERA 5x and strikeouts 3x. He won 3 CY’s came in 2nd twice and 3rd once. His FIP in 1999 1.39 was the 2nd lowest ever, his WHIP 0.737 in 2000 was the 2nd lowest ever. His 291 ERA+ in 2000 was the best ever.
