Wish more would recognise the harms of Covid reinfections jeopardizing a sustainable future.
The next generation of scientists, conservationists and decision makers etc deserve and need a better deal.

I agree. Urging others to 'follow the science' on the climate & badger cull etc but displaying wilful blindness on following the science w regard to the airborne nature of SARS *and* the refusal to acknowledge the next generation won't be as able & healthy to deal w the nature crisis is staggering.

We can never thank Alice enough for fighting all the good fights and especially all the hard fights. We all learned so much from your brilliance, your courage, and your indefatigable leadership. We will never forget you.

A gentle reminder not to dump your Halloween #pumpkins in our woods (or indeed anywhere!)🎃 Dumped pumpkins can disturb the sensitive balance of woodland soils. Plus removing the waste costs time & money better spent on vital conservation work. 🌱

Fab. I can't help immediately thinking, we're in a Covid surge. You're travelling on a train. High density, shared air, poor ventilation. If you get it, you'll be out of action and probably give it to a load of your supporters and family. If only you were bold enough to wear #ffp3.

In reality they were fatally slow to act: Thousands died & thousands more lost their livelihoods & futures to #LongCovid. Workers & kids are still scandalously exposed to preventable harms, elders & clinically vulnerable families have been callously abandoned, & the entire community is traumatised.

The pandemic has, and continues to have, significant effects on global politics. I am certain that in the future entire books will be written on this subject, but these effects can be distilled to one concept: the vast majority of people have normalised that which is abnormal.

Still masking and still mindblown how many people don't mask in medical settings. So many people coughing, sneezing, and obviously sick and so many people unmasked.

It really feels like so many medical settings have gone backwards in infection prevention and control.

Nobody has Long COVID, but everybody has brain fog, cognitive decline and memory loss. I talk about the overwhelming scientific evidence that COVID damages the brain, and the overwhelming social unwillingness to acknowledge it in my latest:

@gwynnemp.bsky.social please ask Wes and Bridget to give us all clean air to breathe indoors with a BSI clean air standard especially in schools and healthcare settings.
Good Air-Score in this classroom. The ventilation works well and the windows are open when necessary. Teaching in a safe and comfortable environment like this should be the norm in all schools.

The increased Covid activity comes as the US heads into fall respiratory illness season, which tends to bring a rise in cases of the common cold, flu and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).

At a minimum, please consider wearing a good mask like an N95 on airplanes and in healthcare settings. Now basically no one is, which is deeply dystopian and troubling. COVID is still out there and causing subclinical damage.

It’s just basic facts. Basic science. Basic compassion for others.

Hello @ukcovid-19inquiry.bsky.social, if the main aim of the inquiry is for 'lessons learnt'; will you be ensuring the public are made aware that Covid can reactivate dormant cancer cells?
Covid-19 infections can reactivate dormant cancer cells, & trigger the growth of secondary cancers. There is now compelling medical evidence to this effect.

Why? Canaries detect dangerous substances in the air of coal mines. We all need to be like canaries and warn about the dangers of unhealthy indoor air due to COVID and climate.
