No, it makes sense! I just wish I'd thought of it because then the joke would've been funnier!

A deep, close...anal...

Missed opportunity, that!

Above and beyond, yanno, a career in publishing!

It is a lot of fun to just suddenly bust it out and scare the children and neighbors tho, because like, no one really expects that level of sudden, deep, *close*...

reading! reading! what did you think I was gonna say?

My little English Major heart just grew three whole sizes reading this!

On the bright side, I AM SO PROUD OF YOU for getting a whole 500 words in and already knowing to scrap it, as opposed to, say, pushing through 100 pages and then dying a painful, chuck it all death. What a relief, right? WHEW! GOLD STAR for listening to your gut!!!

Why, you can practically see your house from there! Safe travels!!

I hereby award you a Gold Star for taking your meds! And another for doing the contact thing!

The Kid is in college now, but I read in his classrooms for 6 years and once, a few years after I stopped, I had a kid tell me that I was always the best part of his week and he was always happy to be in class with my Kid because of the stories (and the silly voices).

Read to your kids, folks!

Not gonna lie, it's a big reason why I answer the phone in French.

Which is not that good.

Basically, I'm doing Miss Piggy and I'm doing her proud!!

That was her brand of feminism--Dolly Madison was going to be remembered, by God! She was a brave, fearless, proud First Lady! One of the Best! REMEMBER HER NAME!!!!!

Because in the 60s? Not too many people did!

My mom, the MO State History Teacher of the Year? When she talks about the War of 1812, she's MUCH more likely to talk about Dolly Madison. Big Dolly fan, my mom. Made it part of her life's goal over her career (1965-1998+) to make sure everyone knew about Dolly Madison saving the portraits!

It is, regrettably, the American Way!

I will say that, when we took The Kid to Jackson's home in TN, they were unflinching on his slavery positions. No holds barred, slavery Very Very Damn Bad. Less so on his Native racism, but...we were on a plantation sooooo...
November 11, 2025 at 8:56 PM
Oh but we "won" that war, didn'tcha hear? Good ol' Andy Jackson "won" it for us! That's how that racist, violent scumbag got to be president, b/c he was killing the Brits down in New Orleans weeks after the war had officially ended!!

WE R WINNERS *shouts loudly to drown out all this Canada talk*
