So, that being said, I find comfort in the small moments of remembering the good my father in law contributed to this world. I know he is no longer in pain, and his spirit lives on. If anyone on this earthly plain deserved an afterlife, it was him.

I am of American Indian decent. I follow much of my ancestors teachings, especially when it pertains to death. I believe the spirit remains alive when the body dies and enters the spirit world, a place free of suffering. As an exvangelical, this lines up closely to what I was raised to believe.

The thing that no one tells you about grief is that it’s not a linear motion. You hear that it comes in waves, but until you experience it yourself I don’t think it’s truly grasped.

The begonia after 3 days 🥲🥲 and the anthurium somehow hanging on? But idk yall, it’s looking ROUGH. Leaves have been dropped. It’s a mood. In a way we’re all just dropping leaves 😂.

Moral of the story: bury your phone in the backyard when inebriated.
