Old Labour; absolutely horrified.
The Cameron govt is getting off lightly (in general). As part of their assault on the BBC I think they replaced the Trust with the Board? Cameron/Osborne are getting an easy ride beause Johnson's destructiveness was so garish, but they did huge damage.

Yes. But while i want this Govt to use its influence to remove Gibb [and his people], I don't understand the mechanisms by which it can do so. And ironically, what's really needed is the removal OF governmental ability to wield influence on the BBC, which Cameron intensified.

No. I'm so confused I want to thank you for being able simply to articulate that.

Exactly. This isn't caring about children. And Starmer was on R3 talking about his love of music last week. The ivewer asked if he was going to give the £250k needed to widen children's participation in music. I suspect this is it: demanding more 'enrichment' from teachers with nothing left to give.

Speaking of which, I went in to Peterborough Cathedral today. They had an exhibition of poetry by children in Gaza, which took me by surprise and wrenched my heart. On the train back, Ely Cathedral was lit up by, at that point, a stunning sunset - looked as if it's floating! Quite a day.

I'm driven mad by the over-representation of Reform MPs and spokespeople in the media.

I voted for Lucy Powell as I like her - and I hope she wants the leadership for herself. Speaking of subtext: I was encouraged by her repeated use of the word 'blokes' on Newsnight.
