Dame Patricia Routledge had an extraordinary life. A few years ago I saw her “in conversation” in London looking back over her remarkable career from the West End to Broadway to television.

And, of course, she brought to life one of the greatest comedy sketch characters: Kitty.

You're gonna absolutely HATE this, but I did a thing about immigration being not just an inevitability, but a necessity, without which we are absolutely screwed. And I have the maths to prove it.

Russell Jones's Week Moment: Do the Maths, Nigel
The media's obsession with Farage's monomaniacal immigration demands ignores the truth that we actually need more immigration, not less, argues Russell Jones

What a ridiculous situation. Stop selling off council houses!AND BUILD SOCIAL
HOUSING!
Given all the chat right now that’s *supposedly* about access to accommodation & housing, a bold government - a government that wanted to lead the news agenda, not just blindly follow it - would scrap the sell off of council homes, right now.
England to sell eight times the council homes it built last year, report finds

To protect England's privatised water companies Ministers claim that public ownership would cost £100bn.

This number has no economic substance.

I asked the Minister to explain and defend the £100bn number

Watch the Minister's reply.

A councillor tried to stop another 24-hour gaming centre. Planning officers agreed with her but approved it anyway. Not by mistake – by law.

How this could be changed to stop them plaguing our high streets and harming vulnerable people ⤵️
Why councils can’t say no to the 24-hour gambling dens plaguing high streets
A broken law forces councils to approve gambling venues – even when they know harm will follow

Sorry to burden you with another jaw-dropping scandal. But what the government intends to do to chemicals regulation in the UK is chilling. Its consultation was slipped out so quietly that most of us missed it. When I read it, I saw why.
