Kona is a 1981 36’ S2 11.0c shoal draft sloop. She was a Katrina boat that we bought back in 2012. Since then we have done nearly a complete refit and sailed her roughly 40k nautical miles. Mostly around the Gulf of Mexico.

Getting the new to us 50hp marinized VW in. Super excited to have an engine again! Pic is about a month ago. We crossed the GOM from Key West, FL to Port Aransas, TX with NO ENGINE 😳

Since we got back to the states we had to repower (old engine quit in Miami) and some other boat projects. Just finishing up on the cabin sole. We used epoxy and I’m really, really happy how it’s turned out 😀
