Sorry! My point was not that the insurance subsidies don't matter. It's that the pain of the SNAP cutoff and other consequences of the shutdown, which are quite real, are getting worse and won't be compensated by the subsidies because they won't be won in this round. That fight will go on all year.

Brennan is terrific, I don't think she's playing along with a corporate line here. I think she's just heard the talking point so many times, and the Republicans always cut it off at "leverage," and you have to watch the whole Clark interview to see the context.
