Work in higher education because I value learning, serving, and meeting the future every day. Mother to Leo and Scorpio daughters. Gen X grandmother. Get through this life with books, cats, professional tennis…and screaming into a malevolent void.
Me, if my husband ever calls a women piggy…except I wouldn’t look as cool, and he drives a ‘15 Rogue…but you catch my drift

I rarely cry when I read fiction, but I am on a roll with these back-to-back gems. Read them and weep.

Sometimes I start reading a book and think-nah, and put it to the side. I will then randomly pick it up some time in the future and find it a complete joy to read. Here is one such example.

No one told me how great this petite book feels just holding it. Plus, you gotta love the poetic introduction written by two stellar writers. I am ready for this journey. A marvelous gem so far, @theferocity.bsky.social and @maggiesmithpoet.bsky.social

Well, this was certainly a delight.

I purchased this book when it was published in 1997. It has patiently waited for me on different bookshelves in different homes. I finally read it. Humans, never let anyone tell you that you can’t accomplish big things! By the way, Lois-Ann Yamanaka is a phenomenal writer who will make you cry.

Forgive me for not being tech savvy, but I will attempt to paste an image of the classic 80’s banana clip. We Gen Xers tortured our scalps with these beauty accessories.

This is a fantastic cover featuring a feisty, fun player to watch.

Can I just say here that I never realized @jaketapper.bsky.social is such a sleaze? Does he not realize that addiction is a disease? Has he not heard Hunter express regret for his own bad behavior? How much does tapper need to kick a cancer-stricken elderly man to sell enough books? Just gross.

This sums it up perfectly.

I am sorry but my Gen X heart cannot accept this updated cover for Forever. It does not capture the spirit of the novel at all.
