Okay new rule: if you respond to my jokes with advice and I don’t know you, I’m blocking you.

Good morning, by the way.

I know breakfast in bed is supposed to be one of those heights of luxury kinda of things but tbh eating in the bedroom always makes me feel like I’m doing something illegal and am about to be caught.

Dear @profanity.accountant, do I cuss a lot? I don’t think I do, at least not on here, but maybe I’m kidding myself.

I hadn’t read any of Baldwin’s poetry before but of course it makes perfect sense reading these that he should be a poet, too. I like how expansive these poems are, at times trumpeting, at times tender, often funny. bookshop.org/p/books/jimm... #BookThoughts 📚💙

Ooooohhh, right right right, I forgot it’s a year divisible by 5
*checks schedule* I think this year is “jingle bell rock doesn’t explicitly mention Christmas so it’s secular” discourse

It is *so* annoying when I get the reasoning right but mentally mix up the words “criminal” and “innocent.”

Hey, just checking: are we doing Baby, It’s Cold Outside discourse this year? Or is that just in even years?

Tonight’s turkey was good but came out a little drier than the first time I made a turkey, and I’m pretty sure the difference was that the first time I roasted it breast side down. It made for kind of an ugly roast because the rack left dents in the breast, but it was much juicier and more tender.

My youngest just said that "Led Zeppelin is the only band to musically capture the feeling of arrows thudding against your shield" and first of all, how does he know that feeling?

Yes. And if someone leaves you, it is okay to be hurt by it. It is okay to say mean things about them to your friends or therapist. It is okay to be angry. But it is not okay to hurt the one who left, or to try to coerce them.

Your feelings may be out of your control. Your actions are not.
It is okay for people to decide to leave. It is okay to decide you do not want to be with them and for you to leave. It is okay.

It is not okay to punish people who leave you, simply because you have unhealed abandonment wounds.

You can choose to be fair.

And you should.

My nextdoor neighbor has been playing loud Christmas music all morning, and normally I’d be predisposed to being annoyed about this, especially since my primary experience of him is every six months when he revs his boat engine in his driveway for 45 minutes. But you know what, it’s fine.
