I think that's why artists can spot the AI art so easily (not just because they only have 3 fingers lol), there's no intent or dialogue or focus or emotion, just flat lines and colours mimicking human depth very poorly. When you look at artists' work, there is always something being communicated.

I've never seen this succinctly expressed, and I totally agree. Nobody is "allowed" to be inspired by another piece of art anymore without accusations of stealing. Then, the same crowd that accuses you of stealing or being derivative are the ones using Gen Ay-Eye to genuinely steal artists' works
