I loved the Mouse movies as a kid in the 70s, and I had the novelization (or was it a novel first?) of Moon. Great memories!

Abusers will keep abusing until someone stops them. I hope he lives long enough to experience the consequences of his actions.

His death scene in Soylent Green is magnificent-- he literally died a week or so after shooting it. So moving.

We saw this tour and it was great fun. Also saw the 2019 tour, which was also fun. Amazing catalog. I'd much rather see Paul with a great backing band than some contemporary "artist" who uses autotune to mumble-rap to a computer.

Oh, I'm quiet certain entropy will catch up with him eventually. And then there will be a nice place for others to "memorialize" him somewhere.

YOU should name and shame the institution. And all academics should boycott them. I certainly would follow suit!

I haven't set foot in a Target since February, and have no need/desire to return. It wasn't hard to replace them with others while still avoiding WalMart as well. Target leadership made a choice, so did I.

Congrats on the Ph.D.! And on ignoring this cesspool of incels.

Yes, I did know all of that. But then I read the news. Sadly most Americans can't be bothered.

I had a variety of what came to be called "netbooks" back in the 2000s. Small, underpowered, but very portable PCs. They were great for writing (my primary use) and email. But now we have tablets. So why?

It kicks the llama's ass!

My kids are in their 20s now, but we showed them Airplane and Top Secret in middle school. They loved both. Formative experiences even.

I did that to our teens some years back, and the result was one of them standing in line at 500am on Record Store Day to buy the soundtrack last year, and the other making all her friends in college watch it freshman year. Score!

How many US terrestrial radio stations actually still HAVE a DJ anyway? There are almost none in my market, and all programming comes from a central location and is boring as hell. Which is why the one legit local DJ (an album rock station) is a hero to many!

It's not really all that mind-blowing: whatever the GOP accuses others of doing, they are actually doing themselves. That's their entire political strategy going back at least to Nixon.

"Properly" meaning "In a way that makes Michael Wolff rich."

In mid-2020 I led a team of undergraduates looking at the history of the 1918 pandemic, mostly in primary sources. They were shocked to see almost exactly the same divisions over masking, distancing, medicine, and science a century before. It was actually somewhat creepy to see history repeating.

Mine was more like a complete discography, with all the outtakes included as well.

As a straight cis het white guy, I get that feeling too. Much safer.

I don't think it's about believing them, so much is actually caring about them.

Totally throws of my "The Harding administration was the most corrupt in US history" narrative in my 20th US history courses, that's for sure. But at least we don't have any Trump love poems to ponder...

Though maybe not Goodwill; they are a greed-based operation and have raised prices 3x over the last few years as flippers have turned to them for stock. This prices people in actual need out of things like clothes. Better to stick with small/non-corporate thrifts!

WTF? I literally subscribed to Teen Vogue *because* they had the guts to cover politics well. And now that's gone? I will cancel immediately, and share that news with friends.

Fun! We had these siblings playing in our driveway last summer, it was great fun watching them too.

You clearly need to watch American Psycho again so this really hits home.
