I’m not a career politician bought and paid for by billionaires or supported by party bosses. If you had told me a year ago I would have raised over a million dollars to run for the U.S. Senate as a no name candidate, I would have laughed in your face.

This weekend, I joined the @iowademocrats.bsky.social for their community food drive to support the more than 340,000 Iowans facing food insecurity and over 250,000 Iowans who saw their SNAP benefits delayed this month.

What’s happening in Burlington is yet another example of working class people being lied to and left behind. Whether it’s corporations like CNH or the politicians they’ve bought, the sad truth is they don’t care about us.
