As he soured on Nazism, he was arrested in 1937, convicted, served 7 months in jail, then sent to Daccau till the end of the war.

Dietrich Bonheffer (1906-1945) was a German pastor and intellectual. He was an anti-Nazi dissident who was executed by the Nazis in 1945.
