Tomorrow is GivingTuesday! Since 2012, the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving has turned into a global movement with aims to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. We are asking for donations so we can continue to provide services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

We want to offer an important reminder as the holiday season officially begins: no matter what holidays you choose to celebrate, they should *never* hurt. Please remember our advocates are always just a phone call away to offer safety and support.

Today we recognize the Transgender Day of Remembrance to remember the trans lives lost as a result of transphobic violence. As trans people today face an increase in anti-trans rhetoric & policies, and the lack of access to gender-affirming care, it's never been more important to stand with them.

There is an undeniable link between mass shootings and domestic violence. More than two-thirds (68%) of mass shootings in the U.S. between 2014 and 2019 were either domestic violence attacks or perpetrated by someone with a history of domestic violence. #Every1KnowsSome1 #DVAM

In states that have implemented universal background checks on firearms sales, nearly 40% fewer women are shot and killed annually. We’re proud to support these and other common-sense efforts to keep domestic violence survivors safe from gun violence. #Every1KnowsSome1 #DVAM

Studies show that up to 99% of DV survivors experience financial abuse, & more than 70% identify “access to money” as a barrier to leaving an abuser. This means survivors are forced to stay with abusers for months, or years, before they can afford housing & other essentials. #Every1KnowsSome1 #DVAM

Domestic violence can happen to anyone, but survivors & victims of marginalized backgrounds & identities can have these used against them as tactics of control by their abusers. They also often face additional barriers to seeking help. Every survivor deserves help & support.💜 #Every1KnowsSome1 #DVAM
