Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

This is an actual Irish blessing, with the source cited. So many people call things Irish or Celtic without finding a source for them. It's gorgeous too. 😍
Corbat cara sluaig,
Corbat roga ríg,
Corbat cruithnecht chaem,
Corbat craebh co fín.

May you be a friend of hosts.
May you be the choice of a king.
May you be beautiful as wheat.
May you be a bough with wine.

Sadly, only one of the trumpets survives. You can see it in @nmireland.bsky.social

Ancient Music Ireland has a video of two replicas being played by Simon O'Dwyer and John Kenny:

An elemental sound. I can imagine it resounding across the sacred landscape of Emain Macha!

I love harvest time & autumn. But Thanksgiving is my least favorite holiday. I try to read Chap. 2 of 1491 annually. The conventional Thanksgiving story obscures the impact of European arrival in New England. Squanto's name was Tisquantum. Thank you @charlescmann.bsky.social for this crucial book

Do you like real books? Is an open-access PDF on your hard drive not committing enough?

Is a hardback too inflexible (and too expensive: £88 😬)?

Very good news: the paperback version of “The Indo-European language family” is here!

You even get a discount with the code in the flyer 💸
