That is the greatest battle with depression: pulling yourself through the present despair to a place just slightly in the future where you may be surprised by joy or feel less tired or see something differently.

It’s early morning. I’m on the porch drinking coffee. A mountain lion just came up the dirt road from our shop and stopped about 15 feet in front of me. When I moved to try to take a photo it turned and ran back down the road.
