I also find this description interesting. I always thought that Marika must have grown the Erdtree with her blood and/or the blood of others. "Primordial matter" really makes me think that, and since this is located in fort haight with the blood knight, I feel like blood is a safe association.

It was hard for me to get pictures but what interests me about the mural of the doors in the catacombs is that there almost seems to be figures pouring something onto the roots (sap? Pot innards?) but ALSO it almost appears like there are figures growing from the tree. An interesting sign of rebirth

I’ve also seen people discuss the shadow enemies. It’s possible that they appear this way because they’re in the shadowlands, but others in the lands aren’t shadowy

To me, they sort of remind me of the shadows of Hiroshima. Messmer’s flame was so brutal that their spirits were burnt into memory

The location is interesting.

I’m curious about the mural, it looks like two burial watchdogs on the left and then a person and a bird on the right? All intertwined with what looks like ivy in the shape of infinity loop

Now this item description is really interesting to me. On one hand, it could be Hornsent bias softening the language and making it seem like the Shaman were more willing. On the other, it kind of solidifies my theory that shaman were doing this first and that’s why we see the practice continued
