I’ve been thinking about the story of Fafnir. Fafnir was so greedy and hoarded so much gold he turned into a dragon. He was later slain by Sigurd, but all his gold was cursed and all who sought it fell to ruin. Seems an important lesson about greed for and hoarding of wealth to me.

OpenAI employees are very excited about how well their new AI tool can create fake videos of people doing crimes and have definitely thought through all the implications of this

When I moved into this house 4 yrs ago I had two dogs and a cat. In the course of one year I’ve lost all three to age related issues and the job that brought me here.

As I was leaving my job in March as one of many released in a massive corporate RIF, I told my immediate supervisor that in his community charitable org they should start now with finding a suitable place to put a community garden. It will be needed.
I hope they did.
