I DISTINCTLY remember setting up this QuickTime download over dialup one winter morning before my family drove to go visit my grandparents for the day. We came back after dinner time and the file was just finishing. 28 seconds of pure awesome.

I found that I still had some old clips I had downloaded online ages ago still on my hard drive. I had watched them so many times they are burned into my brain.
But we've got better versions of stuff now! So I think I'm gonna just do a little side-by-side comparison of then versus now.

After Duolingo pulled the "fire all our language consultants for AI" business I only had a few days to go to hit 1400 day streak. Did that and then swapped over to LingoDeer, got the lifetime premium, and keeping my momentum going.
